The Center of Excellence in Molecular Studies, Energy, and Petroleum (CEMEP) is a leading research hub where a team of highly qualified scientists joins a cutting-edge infrastructure. With a mastery of state-of-the-art chromatography, high-resolution mass spectrometry, ambient ionization techniques, and chemical imaging, our mission is to identify, characterize, and quantify molecules with precision and reliability. Our analytical center is among the most modern and comprehensive in Latin America, allowing us to tackle problems of the highest complexity with unique capabilities. We have ultra-high-resolution mass spectrometers, chromatographic techniques, and many essential peripherals for the execution of our projects. Our Research Lines

• Petroleomics and Energy: We perform in-depth molecular characterization of crude oil and biofuels, providing crucial data to improve refining, develop cleaner energies, and optimize the fuel production chain.

• Metabolomics: We explore the vast chemistry of life, discovering new bioactive molecules in plants and organisms. Our studies on metabolic interactions open doors for new drugs, agricultural products, and biotechnologies.
